Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment in which lies inside a pressurized room or chamber and breathes increased concentrations of oxygen. The air pressure in the chamber is typically much higher than normal atmospheric pressure, which allows the lungs to take in more oxygen than would be possible at normal pressure.

How HBOT Works:

In a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, the increase in pressure allows the body to absorb more oxygen into the blood plasma (the liquid portion of the blood), rather than just being carried by hemoglobin in red blood cells. The oxygen is then delivered throughout the body to tissues, organs, and areas that need healing.

Benefits of HBOT:

Increased Oxygen Delivery: By delivering higher levels of oxygen to tissues, HBOT can stimulate healing, reduce inflammation, and fight infection.

Tissue Repair:

Oxygen helps repair damaged tissues, especially in cases of burns, injuries, or surgery.
Enhanced Immune Function: Higher oxygen levels help the body fight infections and can improve immune response.
Reduced Inflammation: The therapy can help decrease swelling and inflammation, particularly in cases of chronic injuries or wounds.

Neuroprotection:

It has been shown to help in the recovery of brain cells after a stroke or traumatic brain injury by increasing oxygen delivery to affected areas.
